Before entering the Spa the horse has its feet cleaned, legs hosed to remove dirt and is then fitted with a lightweight faecal collection harness.
The horse simply walks into the main chamber of the spa with the doors closed at each end. The cold saline water flows in around the horse to the desired depth i.e. when the injury site is fully covered. Air jets are then introduced to provide massage and oxygenation. Treatment lasts for up to 20 mins. After treatment the air jets are turned off and the water is filtered away.
After exiting the spa, the saline solution is washed off and dressings applied where necessary.
